One of the recently added features here at theOwen.com is our locally tuned search engine. Ok, so we didn’t actually build the search engine, but we have spruced it up little to make it a little easier to find the local information you need.

Local search results. Now with 72% less Owen Wilson.

An Idea for Homecoming

owen sound homecoming In this short audio clip, Ryan tosses out an idea to harness the collective knowledge of all returning Sounders for the cities 150th. The basic idea.

If everyone that returns to Owen Sound for a homecoming event brings with them the best idea from their present community we should have lots of interesting topics of conversation for a while to come.

I think this is a valuable resource to tap and we don’t have 150th”s all that often. I am looking for some discussion around here on how we can make this happen. To add your thoughts and see what others have to say look for the comment link below this post.

A little bit more about the Owen

In this show, Ryan (I’m the one pushing most buttons around here) is interviewed by Anne Findlay-Stewart about the future of theOwen and how you can participate in what’s going on.

The interview has been split into a couple of parts (the original recording was about 105 minutes.)

In Part One, Ryan and Anne discuss theOwen, it’s goals, the technology involved here (well sort of but for the most part we are trying to keep things jargon free at this point) and some discussion of other thoughts and ideas currently bouncing around the region.
