Green Nomination Party

Shane JolleyThe provincial Green Party of Grey-Bruce Owen Sound will be nominating a candidate on Thursday May 24th at 7 p.m. and everyone is invited. The event will be taking place in the Bay Room at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. Shane Jolley ran on behalf of the Green party in the federal election of 2006 and led the most successful campaign in all of Canada. He will be explaining why he is running for the provincial Green party as well as his vision of a sustainable local community.

“Bruce-Grey can thrive in the ‘new growth economy’; an economy in which energy is clean, education is an investment, agriculture is profitable, skills are abundant, jobs are rewarding, government is participatory, and people are more important than money, ” Jolley says.

The evening will also include a presentation on climate change by Green Party of Ontario Deputy leader, Victoria Serda, as well as some words from Green Party of Ontario leader, Frank Dejong.

All are welcome, but only members of the Bruce Grey Owen Sound Greet Party of Ontario are eligible to vote for a candidate. For those interested memberships will be available at the meeting for $10.00.
