The Week Past, the Week to Come, May 28th

May 28, 2007

Last week here at theOwen.com was an exciting one. We completed and posted an artist profile for Allen Smutylo that included an audio clip from the reading of his new book, Wild Places Wild Hearts. We were also excited to have Josh Richardson into the office for an interview and brainstorming session. Plans were established to get a performance of his music produced under the pseudonym Tel Quel organized for later in the summer in partnership with theOwen.com. Thanks to Josh for helping us get his musician’s profile together and for dropping in for a short interview. Last week we also got a musician’s profile posted for Pete Devlin. Expect many more to come.
Through the upcoming week theOwen.com will be posting musician’s profiles for Joel Morelli, Josh Richardson and Brian Moniz. Last week we got a chance to sit down with Brian Moniz to listen to his fantastic new album. Expect some brand new tracks to be posted here at theOwen.com, along with an interview with Brian available in podcast form.
Also in the week to come your friendly neighborhood correspondent is going to have his head shaved for the Cops for Cancer fundraising event. So far my mother and I have raised nearly $700 dollars for cancer research, so a special thanks goes out to all those who have pledged me. If you would still like to offer a pledge just send me an email at adam[@] theOwen.com
Also this coming week some special buildings will be opening their doors around town for the Open Doors Owen Sound event. Take a look at theOwen.com’s feature story on the event for more information. Also, expect map links to be up and running in the next few days for each of the venues participating in the Doors Open event.
As you can tell, things are humming right along here at theOwen.com. You’re keeping us busy with all your bustle and creativity and we love it! You keep making things happen out there, and we’ll keep letting the area know what’s going on. We’re having a great time so far Grey-Bruce. Take care ’till next week!
Ryan & Adam
