Check Out Our New Children’s Events Calendar

Kids at PlayGreat family fun can now be found at the touch of a few buttons! We here at theOwen.com are proud to unveil our new
Children’s Events Calendar!! To find out about how to get you and your children out of the house for some good old fashioned fun, come to theOwen.com and click on our Children’s Events Calendar under the “Find It” directory or else simply follow the link above.

A quick perusal of the calendar will show you that the next few weekends are thick with children’s programming all across the area. Of interest to all would-be paleontologists is the Wild and Woolly: Mammals of the Ice Age exhibit at the
Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Also coming up this weekend is the Energy Solutions Expo being held in Tiverton with a special emphasis on children and young adults.
Mad ScienceMad Science will be on hand to drum up scientific enthusiasm with their hip-hop science rhymes. There will be a pavilion dedicated to K.I.D.S. (Knowledge Inspiring Dedication to Science) open for the whole event.

And then next weekend there is a huge event for this city. The Rocking Horse, downtown’s workhorse toy store, will be celebrating it’s 30th anniversary in the parkette beside Scotiabank on 2nd Ave. East. The celebrations will begin on Friday June 15th at 4:30 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These celebrations will include a barbecue presented by the Children’s Aid Society, a medieval demonstration, music by Jake, a magic show, and puppet shows throughout the day by the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Friends & Neighbours Club.

So all you parents itching to get out of the house with your little ones, keep us in mind. Our new Children’s Event Calendar is going to be a very useful tool for you. We hope that you’ll take advantage of it, and we also hope that you’ll get in touch with us with events that we are missing so we can keep the calendar comprehensive. We’ve got a little three year-old boy that always wants to play here at theOwen.com (Ryan’s offspring, not mine!) and this calendar is really going to come in handy. So lets get out there and have fun with our families!
