The Week Past, the Week to Come, June 8th

June 8, 2007

Holy Mackerel! We’ve been working hard over here at theOwen.com in the last week with no end in sight. On top of plenty of behind the scenes technical work (not to mention lots of crash courses in web manipulation for your friendly correspondent!) we’ve also written many interesting posts and added new features for the site. This week we completed our first video project, “Follicle Follies”. We are very proud of this homegrown documentary of The Salon’s Cops for Cancer event. It features one Adam Reese (your friendly correspondent? Hmmm…) having his head shaved by the master of clippers, Rebecca Morelli.

Also this week we unveiled our new Children’s Events Calendar! We are very excited to be offering families such a great resource. There are so many enriching events going on around town for the little ones, and we are proud to be part of helping families find out about them. Please parents, spread the word about this valuable tool, and do get in touch with us about any events we might be missing.

Make sure to check out our post on this weekend’s “50 years of Conservation” event being held by the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority. The event is taking place at the GSCA office at 237897 Inglis Falls Road on Saturday June 9th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information just follow the friendly link provided.

This week we also posted two new local musician’s profiles on the site. You can now explore the musical creations of Josh Richardson and Joel Morelli simply by clicking on our “Find Local Musicians” link in our “Find It” directory. If you are a local musician and we haven’t got a profile up for you then send us your information and we’ll get that situation rectified.

Online for next week we have plans to complete more musician’s profiles and to write a post about programs for children going on at the Owen Sound library. Also in the next little while look for us to be making a gradual move into our future downtown office space!!

Thanks for joining us again this week Grey-Bruce! Keep cool, stay dry and have fun!!
Adam & Ryan!
