Marine & Rail MuseumOwen Sound is truly “the Sound of music” this summer as the popular Harbour Nights Concert Series returns. The series starts with David Fromager on July 8. It includes six Sunday concerts and seven nightly concerts during Owen Sound’s Homecoming Celebrations.

The Sunday concerts take place July 8, 15 and 22, August 12 and 26, and September 2, at the back of the Marine & Rail Museum, 1165 1 st Avenue West, Owen Sound. Audiences are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs for the Sunday concerts, which begin at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation.

This summer’s concert series is presented by Sun Life Financial, Leon’s Furniture, Bayshore Broadcasting, and other local business sponsors.

The Harbour Nights Concert Series presents Owen Sound and area’s finest musicians – its “best and brightest” – in a relaxed, intimate, outdoor setting. With the Marine & Rail Museum as a backdrop to the Sunday concerts, local bands and singersongwriters
have an opportunity to present their music to a new audience in a very friendly atmosphere.

Now entering its 6 th season, the Harbour Nights Concert Series has developed a solid following amongst local residents for its eclectic and entertaining blend of programming. As in previous seasons, the 2007 lineup features both emerging and established artists. Most live in the Owen Sound area, or have their roots here.

Many artists will have CDs available for sale at the concerts. Audiences are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs to the Sunday concerts. Concerts will go ahead rain or shine, except for severe weather. Freewill donations are encouraged to offset the fees paid to performers.
