Knox Acoustic Cafe Presents Brian MacMillan

July 11, 2007

The following event was brought to our attention by Irwin Seidman who handles marketing for the Knox Acoustic Cafe. If you have any events you would like promoted on theOwen.com it is as simple as contacting us!

Brian Macmillan

On Saturday July 14th Brian Macmillan will be playing the Knox Acoustic Cafe. The doors will be opening at 7:30 p.m. with the music starting at 8. Brian’s music is rooted in the folk, pop and soul traditions of his heroes. He often draws comparisons to artists such as James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Bruce Cockburn and Stevie Wonder.

Approaching the stage like an old friend; excited, warm and ready to engage, Brian’s command of his guitar allows him to crete a complete sound as a solo performer or as the focus in a duo or trio.

The Ontario Council of Folk Festivals recognized his songwriting in 2005 by awarding him the Colleen Peterson Award.

Brian has performed at such festivals as Home County, Mariposa, Shelter Valley, Winterfolk, Toronto City Roots, NXNE, SXSW and Boston’s NEMO festival.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. For information call (519) 376-4684 or email tickets.acousticcafe@knoxowensound.ca.

This secular “cafe-style” event will be held on the Knox Acoustic Cafe stage on the lower level at the Knox United Church, 890 4th Ave. East, Owen Sound.
