The Uptowne Piano & Jazz Bar is Back!

July 27, 2007

Yes you heard correctly, Casey has reopened her doors and is once again inviting customers into her amazing venue!
Casey Holds the Door Open at the Uptowne Piano and Bar
Look for lots of great times and amazing music as one of Owen Sound’s best stages gets acts running again. Tonight she’ll be hosting the fabulous sounds of Mike Nyman, and on Saturday night she’ll have local legends Lars Jensen and Rob Mclean holding it down with their gritty hep-cat blues. As a local musician I am very fond of this establishment and encourage everyone to head on down to the Uptowne for a drink. They are now open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Homecoming Events This Weekend

July 27, 2007

It begins… Prepare yourselves Owen Sounders. First it was the colourful office that opened up in Carney’s Lane. Next there were the young ladies tying their pink and blue ribbons to the street lamps. There was a big concert down at the Bayshore, and a flock of mechanical birds flew in tight formation through the skies over our bay. Now there are smiling visitors gazing in every shop window along the downtown stretch, wandering confusedly into our office searching for the Chinese Buffet. But this is only the beginning my friends. The action starts tonight. Get ready ’cause this is going to come at you in a hurry!

    Playing catch up, some photos…

    July 24, 2007

With Homecoming, client work, some new features about to be released and more on the go it is sometimes difficult to keep up with all the interesting things we would like to do here.

A while back Adam wrote a post about a community photo gallery. This is the first crack at implementing the gallery. Now all we need is some “community” photos. If you have a shot to share send it to photos@theowen.com. Are you heading out to local event any time soon? Take the camera and send us a few shots. If you have any questions about how to take part be sure to contact us
