Tel Quel Will Be the Show of the Century!

Belly Dancers and Maori-influenced poi-spinners, crazy mandala projections and mind-bending soundscapes will truly make this Saturday evening’s Tel Quel show the event of the century. Billed as “An evening of live electronic music…”, the show will incorporate Joshua Richardson’s electronic music being tweaked on the fly along with the live instrumental stylings of Adam Reese and Graham & Pat Dorfman. The show will explore genres ranging from dub-reggae to break beats to middle-eastern sacred music. This will be the most experimental and daring music to be generated from within the area for a long time.

We caught up with Joshua Richardson in our downtown headquarters (916 2nd Ave. East) and interviewed him. To download this podcast, right click and “save as”.

The show will be taking place at Mudtown Pottery, 1835 3rd Ave. East (across from the Bayshore Community Centre). Tickets are $5 dollars in advance or $6 at the door. The show will begin at 8 pm and will run until 10 pm. Drinking and smoking are not allowed within the venue, but none will be necessary. The music will be all that is required to lift you up and take you away!

Stunning evening of sounds and colours, spinning around and around with psycho-swirly goodness. My only regret is that I forgot to pick up a CD.

Thanks so much Ryan and Adam…. and Mr. Daniel as well. The show was a great success owing to everyone’s effort and involvement. I look forward to seeing more photos and footage of the event as well as listening to the mix. A great first concert event presented by the Owen!
