Summerfolk Camping @ Kelso

August 15, 2007

Summerfolk LogoThe Kelso Beach campground officially opened for Summerfolk today and the good sites are being scooped up as we speak. I went down and reserved mine, a hydro-blessed plot of land between the main bathroom and the road. Soon the campground will be transformed into a tent village full of VW camper vans, the smell of barbecues and the sounds of singing and acoustic guitars. My site cost $130 from today (Wednesday) ’till Sunday. For die-hard Summerfolk fans, getting a site now is the only way to feel certain you’ll get one as things are filling up quickly. The sites are $26 a night, and according to the campground supervisor, they are 1/3 full as of this moment (5:58pm). And actually, the supervisor says that it is usually possible to get a campsite on Friday, but I personally think you’re stretching your luck waiting that long.

I am positively giddy with excitement. I love Summerfolk regardless, but this summer I’ll be there in the capacity of a media representative. Take a look for Ryan and I down on the site, and ask us what creative endeavors we have in mind for Summerfolk this year!
