Agreed Josh, by the time the next election hits things here at theOwen.com will certainly have matured enough that your geeky web dream will in fact be a reality.

But that's just the beginning, as far as I am concerned. If we are going to arrange a one on one with each candidate I want to make sure we have some tough and pertinent questions. So user generated questions make a great deal of sense. Submit your question on the site, we ask it, and then you "tune in" for the answer in the completed interview.

All of this is great for the web savvy set but I throughout this election I am starting to see more clearly the drawbacks of all this great technology when it comes to servicing certain segments of the population. Most notably those whose monthly budget might not have the room for the reasonably pricey high speed Internet connection that can make all of this possible. This in itself is interesting? Canada is regarded as a highly connected nation as far as web use is concerned but there are many, many countries that have more affordable access.

I think that's my first question for the politicians in the next election. I am however off of my original point which was to suggest that maybe the Internet
doesn't need to be the only media to distribute the content we produce (especially the audio and video). If you have thoughts on this drop us a line. More to come on this topic for sure.

My geeky web dream is to hear one-on-one interviews with each of the candidates (alas, our lone intrepid Owen.com reporter *is* lone). But I must say that it is good to see what is indeed a race, for once!

I love it -- what a brilliant way to visually present the relative support for the candidates, as originally expressed in an audio form... perhaps not as scientific as it looks, but (at least) anecdotal evidence that Owen Sound is a progressive, forward-thinking community.
