Doing Business in a Connected World
November 26, 2007
This is an introduction to what I hope to be a series of articles which focus on doing business in the digital age. I am hoping to share a number of my experiences with a variety of the digital tools and devices that help keep my business and a bunch of my other projects (such as theOwen or FindItGreyBruce.com) up and running.
Now the obvious place for me to start might be with an overview of the web itself as it applies to business. After all, without I would most certainly be in a different line of work right now. I think I will spare you the history of the web (after all it’s really just a medium, and others would simply call it a series of tubes.
The topics that I intend to cover here will look at how businesses use the web for day to day activities and how it can be better utilized to increase productivity, increase findabilty, and to promote brand awareness (both on line and off).
I will also try to explore the extremely interactive nature of the Internet as it applies to the business world. This isn’t a one way medium after all. Case in point…while I have a few articles underway for this series (VOIP telephony, Email Mastery, mobile communications) I am very much interested in what kinds of information and what questions you may have about business in a connected world. No sense writing about topics no one is interested in right?
If you would like to offer a suggestion for a topic or if you have a question about business in the digital age that you would like to get answered here’s your chance to participate. Simply add you contact details and question below and we will work on integrating them into future articles in the Business section here at theOwen.com
