seriously. if nothing else, consider the logic of the equation: if these ‘investors’ had the wherewithall to create the original idea, they would not BE vc’s, they would be INVENTORS and making abundle off their idea, so then does it make sense to hand the controlling interest in a technical idea over to the discretion of people who patently do not understand the patent?

I suppose it CAN work, but what I can say for certain is this: of the many VC-backed startups I have had the misfortune to join, not one of them is still in business, and of the few blood-sweat-and-tears labours I’ve joined, almost all of them are still going. Why that is may not be obvious, it may be complex, but it still seems to me wiser to board a ship where the captain understands the vessel and the cargo, knows the destination, and has a personal interest in sailing.
