Community Forum on Poverty

Poverty On Tuesday, Nov 25th from 7pm to 9pm at the Owen Sound Library, The Grey Bruce Coalition for Peace and Justice will be hosting a community dialogue and Forum on Poverty. They will discuss local actions to address local poverty in our increasingly uncertain economic times. There will be a broad-based panel, moderated by Colleen Purdon to help them start their discussions and interaction. All are welcome to attend this free event.

November Jelly is this Wednesday

jelly This is a late reminder to all that the next instalment of Jelly is taking place this Wednesday, November 26th. For those of you who are not yet familiar with the Jelly concept it goes a little like this… (for the record you can read a lot more about it in our earlier post here)

Jelly is a day of casual co-working for the self employed, entrepreneurial set. Actually you are more than welcome to come along if you happened to be an employee with an enlightened boss that sees the value in networking and knowledge exchange! Good ahead and ask… it can’t hurt now can it?

The idea was born (Ok , I found it online….) out of a wish/want/need for a little more human connection in my workday, or at least one workday a month. Jellly then serves as a sort of “company watercooler” for those of us that don’t have the corporate/office culture in our day to day.

So the summary…

When

November 26th, 2008. Somewhere in the 9-5 (ish) range. You don’t need to come for the whole day but you might just want to.

Where?

The event will take place at 925 2nd Ave West in Owen Sound. A couple of parking spots can be arranged. Otherwise there is parking on 1st ave west.
