2009 Youth Music Showcase in Owen Sound

The Second Annual Knox Acoustic Cafe Youth Showcase is scheduled for Saturday March 7, 2009 (in Owen Sound).

Last year’s event was a huge hit with a near sell out crowd and some truely amazing performances. Participants ranged in aged from 17 to 25 and came from all across Southern and Southwestern Ontario. Since performing at the 2009 event, winner Hayden Stewart has continued to move his musical career forward with some outstsanding performances opening for Dala at Knox Acoustic Cafe and playing at Summerfolk 2008.

If you are (or know of) a musician 25 years old or younger whose style includes influences based in folk, roots, celtic or blues traditions then this competition is for you.

In addition to being a good performance and networking opportunity, one very talented young musician will win a paid opening gig for a 2009 Knox Acoustic Cafe concent AND a spot on the Young & Hungry stage at Summerfolk 2009.
