Pat Robitaille House Concert

June 29, 2009

Pat Robitaille is coming to Owen Sound for an intimate house concert. He’ll be performing at 925 2nd Ave. W. (right across from the Police Services) on Friday, July 10 from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Who is Pat Robitaille?

For an artist at the start of a career, his hard-earned years on the road already shine through with a comfortable attitude on and off stage. This isn’t a musician by trade, this is someone who makes music because they have to. And even though any school dropout needs a back-up plan, 300,000 kilometers of touring behind the wheel of his van will hopefully secure some type of driving career for Pat if things don’t pan out.

He’s born and bred in Windsor, Ontario, the city of roses and the automotive capitol of Canada. His neighbours to the north in Detroit, Michigan paved the way for what is rock and soul music today. Pat’s brand of music doesn’t quite showcase the sound of Motown Detroit, but it’s got the soul and spirit to measure up. He doesn’t tour with a band or record with one. He prefers to keep the decisions and performances up to himself, and he’s still able to paint a landscape with a song as if a hundred people had given their advice.

Pat has opened doors, with the help of a few valued friends along the way, that people continue to knock on their whole lives. He’s had a few pats on the back from respectable artists along the way, too, including Peter Frampton, Sam Roberts, Matthew Good, The Beach Boys & Bob Rock.

Check out a show next time he’s near your city. Even if it’s a bit of a drive, chances are it is for Pat too!
