10th STREET EAST LINK CONSTRUCTION
From 13th Avenue E to 16th Avenue E

PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED

The City of Owen Sound is studying alternative construction designs for a new section of 10th Street East. The section, in an unopened road allowance located between 13th Ave. E and 16th Ave. E in Owen Sound includes alternative lane configurations for vehicles and bikes. Intersection improvement at 9th Ave E and 16th Ave E include widening and a possible roundabout to promote traffic calming are being considered and presented for comment as part of the pubic meeting.

The Public Information Meeting is scheduled as part of the Operations Advisory Committee Meeting in Council Chamber, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 808 2nd Avenue East on Wednesday July 15th, 2009 at 7 pm at which time the project alternatives will be presented, followed by a question and answer session.

Written comments received before July 29th, 2009 at 4 pm, will be considered. Subject to comments and the receipt of approvals, the City of Owen Sound will proceed with the final design and construction of this project immediately. The installation of underground servicing and road construction is planned for 2009. The remainder of the work including curb and gutter, streetlights, landscaping, asphalt and intersection work is planned for 2010.
